Industrial Metropolis, 1964
In 1952 the artist married the Bielefeld entrepreneur Hans Baumgarte. During the economic miracle, she found inspiration for her industrial cycle in his ironworks. Now she used her talent for accurately recording her environment where no artist, especially no female artist, had set foot in West Germany at that time: in the assembly halls with the workbenches in the factories.
